The John Deere crawler models 420, 430, 440,
and 1010 use the same fiber discs and steel separator plates. The JD420 & 430 crawlers used different numbers of plates
depending on their serial numbers. On those machines Serial # 158041 and below the
clutches used 7 fiber discs and 6 steel separator plates in each clutch. On Serial #
158402 and up, but the 420 and the 430 used 8 fiber discs and 8 steel separator plates per
clutch
The JD440 crawlers with a serial number up thru 455632 used 7 fiber discs p/n M3293 and 6
steel discs p/n AM984, replaced by the M872 .
The JD440 crawlers serial number 455633 and up used 8 fiber discs M3293 and 8 steel discs
AM984 replaced by M872.
The JD1010 crawlers used 8 fiber discs in all the serial number ranges. From serial number
1 thru 31000 quantity 8 steel plates, p/n M872 were used and above that serial number,
quantity 7 steel plates were used.

AT18845->AT129805 We have improved our brakebands over the original
design to not only include the normal adhesive glue, but have also reinforced the linings
with rivets. If you have ever removed your JD1010 brake bands and seen the linings
broken loose from the bands, the riveted reinforced linings will help prevent this
